Gaining a Competitive Edge With Technology
The reality is that you’re in business to make money, but the problem for most businesses is competition. How you distinguish yourself from your competitors can mean the difference between being profitable, and going out of business. As a manager or business owner it’s imperative to utilize the power of technology to gain a competitive advantage over your competition. When implemented effectively, technology can make your business operations more efficient. It can lower costs, and improve productivity; however, to make it work, you must first analyze your business and identify areas of improvement. One powerful way technology can improve your bottom line is through automation. Of course not all functions of your business can be automated, but its one way to cut the fat.13

Is The New iPad Worth Getting For Business
Last week, Apple unveiled what we all thought would be the iPad 3; however, for now we just know it as the “new” iPad (Come on Apple. Give the mystic a rest). As more and more companies purchase tablets for business use, I wondered if its even worth getting the new iPad. For all the glitz and glamor, I don’t believe the new iPad is worth buying for business use. It’s my opinion that it’s geared more towards entertainment. So if you’re in thinking about getting an iPad for the employees, you’re better off just sticking with the iPad 2 or even original iPad in most cases; however, there are a few exceptions. One of the major improvements to the iPad is the the field of graphics editing, CAD designing, and video editing. I have to admit that in that front, the improvements made definitely warrant getting the new iPad over the older version especially if you’re a designer or engineer. What has surprised me is the amount of small businesses that purchase iPads. Just last week I was at the dentist and saw that Doc had a station with 3 iPad (Mainly for the kids), but I have to admit, the tablet revolution is conquering.
